In 2012, less than a year into my first post-college graduate job at Target, I found myself totally overwhelmed. The hours, frequent working weekends, and managing a team of over 70 employees right out of the gate was more than I could handle. I felt alone, like a failure of a wife; I wasn’t making it to church on Sundays and was missing many of the important metrics at work. I remember just wanting out of my life, so I quit my job.

I did a lot of things with my newfound time, including ordering a $200 candle making kit to make some candles in my kitchen…

To be honest, I never thought that it would turn into a business. I was just doing it for myself and sharing with just family and friends at first. At some point, the Lord revealed that I have the ability to offer these candles to others and even begin a legit small business. I realized I could share this little bit of happiness with the world, and in 2014 Antique Candle Works was born.
