The Antique Candle Co. Story

We desire to bless homes through our candle craft, deed, and word

In 2012, less than a year into my first post-college graduate job at Target, I found myself totally overwhelmed. The hours, frequent working weekends, and managing a team of over 70 employees right out of the gate was more than I could handle. I felt alone, like a failure of a wife; I wasn’t making it to church on Sundays and was missing many of the important metrics at work. I remember just wanting out of my life, so I quit my job.

I did a lot of things with my newfound time, including ordering a $200 candle making kit to make some candles in my kitchen…

To be honest, I never thought that it would turn into a business & this is the long version of the real story that led to the beginning of this business.

The first candles I made were called "antique candles". Think: old teacups, coffee tins, and other vintage containers that I could upcycle into candles. They were unique pieces and are still made today for those on our email or text list. I've always loved mason jars & candles.... so the mason jar candle with vintage-inspired zinc lid became our candle of choice. I've trained many candle makers along the way to bring all kinds of candles to life. That small team has made well over 100 scents since I began making candles in my kitchen. The best-selling candle we make is Momma's Kitchen and is an original recipe from the kitchen candle-making days.

My prayer is that the work of crafting candles for you is a blessing to you and your home. The verse in Luke 10:5 is an inspiration to me to bring peace and goodness directly to your home.
