2026 is the new 2016?

When I shared my personal story behind starting Antique Candle Co.® last month, I was really touched by the email replies and comments left on the blog. Thank you for that gift of kindness.

A trend is going around right now that 2026 is the new 2016. Have you seen it? I don't really understand what it means, but I gave it a try.

This is our same Momma's Kitchen candle today. It smells like warm cinnamon and sweet apples create a familiar feeling that brings you back to family moments in the kitchen and homemade pies baking in the oven.

Oh and some updates: I ended up figuring out how to hire an employee. We make 2,000 - 4,000 candles per day depending on the season.....Sounds like a lot, but we are still small. Compared to Yankee Candle who makes over 200,000 candles per single day. We pack a few hundred orders during the non-busy season. We make new candles and over the years, started collaborating with others to make them. (Scary at first, but ended up being more fun than I thought). My brother stayed with the business for 10 years before moving onto a new family business start up (my husband's company, Prediction Guard which has nothing to do with candles lol).

The scents we had available in 2016 included:
- Apple Pickin'
- Autumn Leaves
- Christmas Day (still exists today!)
- Clean Cotton
- Good Tidings (still exists today!)
- Lavender
- Momma's Kitchen (still best seller)
- Nag Champa
- Sage & Citrus
- Southern Hospitality
- Vanilla
- White Pine
- Wildflowers

Thanks for being here & reading :) Curious what candles we make today? See our full library. Warmly,

Brittany, founder & owner.
