What does the testing process look like?

Step 1: Smell each candle before burning.
Experience the cold throw, or how each candle smells before it's lit. Compare all four fragrances and jot down your first impressions.

Step 2: Burn each candle.
Burn each candle individually in a small to medium-sized room for 2 to 3 hours. This is the hot throw. Take your time, spread your testing out over several days, have fun, and don't forget to take notes!

Step 3: Complete the survey.
Once you've tested all four candles, fill out the survey we'll email you before the deadline. We'll read every response, announce the winning candle a few weeks later, and then begin crafting it at our candle factory in Lafayette, Indiana!

What fragrances will I be testing?

As a Candle Tester, you’ll be smelling:

  • Apple & Cinnamon | A cozy blend of crisp apple and warm cinnamon wrapped in soft vanilla. It’s sweet, comforting, and instantly feels like fall baking in the kitchen.
  • Pumpkin Pecan Waffle | A rich pecan and melted butter swirl into pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple for a decadent, fresh‑from‑the‑griddle aroma. Maple, vanilla, and a hint of musk.
  • Autumn Berry Orchard | Juicy blueberries and sweet apples blend with earthy notes and a warm hint of clove bud. It’s a bright, rustic fall orchard scent with a cozy, lightly spiced finish.
  • Porch Sittin' | Bright mandarin and citrus open into fresh thyme for a breezy feel. Warm amber and autumn air settle in like a cool evening on the front porch.

How long will Fall Candle Testers be available?

How do you choose the winning fragrance?

Once we've gathered thoughts from candle testers across the country, we look through ALL the surveys to see what people thought. The fragrance that gets the most love and votes becomes our next official candle! Your feedback is what makes our candles so special. 🤍

How do I vote for my favorite candle?

After you order your tester candles, you’ll receive an email with a link to the survey. You can also find the link inside the booklet included in your Happy Mail!

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. As a thank you, we’ll also send you a special coupon code!
