the makers behind Antique Candle Co.®

Did you know Antique Candle Co.® began with Brittany making candles on her stove top in 2014?

Antique Candle Co.® got started with only $200 of supplies and a business plan. In the early days, Brittany mixed a single pot of wax at a time in her kitchen. She did all the candle making, shipping, and marketing by herself.

Now, Antique Candle Co.® is in over 300 stores in nearly every U.S. state and several shops in Canada, thousands of yummy candles are hand poured and shipped every week, and we have nearly 30 part and full-time makers in the studio making the magic happen. (We are SO THANKFUL!)

We are sharing TONS of yummy candles with more friends than ever before! We wouldn't be able to do this without YOU loving on our company. Supporting our small business goes so much farther than a candle and makes a difference in the lives of every single maker behind the scenes.

I'd love to introduce some of the people who, thanks to your support, work hard every day to bring cozy, hand poured soy candles to your door:

Meet Ed, maker for 5 years

"If I was a character from The Office, I would be Dwight because I care A LOT about stupid things."

What do you do at Antique Candle Co.®?

I am the customer service man!

What is your favorite candle?

Tree Farm 🌲

What is the favorite thing you do at ACC?

I love helping people, and customer service is a way I can do that. I also love solving problems!

Funniest moment at work?

When I (accidentally) burned my mustache off with a lighter.

How has ACC grown since you started?

When I started, my boss (Brittany) would make me snacks and we would watch Jersey Shore and wick 20 candles in her basement... So around that much.

What has working at ACC meant to you?

I get to spend time with my family, and it now provides me with my first after-college job! I also met a lot of friends who I love and enjoy spending time with!

Favorite music to get pumped up at work?

Mark Kozelek; he is the bomb! Or Nick Drake.

Meet Jaycie, maker for 3 years

"If I was a character from The Office, I would be a combination of Angela and Pam. Angela, because of my deep passion for cats; Pam, because I'm a little more laid-back than Angela!"

What do you do at Antique Candle Co.®?

I am the Brand Manager. The biggest parts of my job include working with our fun influencer friends and wholesale partners! I make sure they all have the yummy candles they need to either share with their social media friends or with customers in their stores. I also manage our Pinterest page and collaborate with our marketing team to help create fun new campaigns! One of my favorite things I do is actually one of my oldest responsibilities: writing the company blog!

What is your favorite candle?

I LOVE Autumn Woods! It has a fresh, outdoorsy musk that's subtly sweet and is just SO good. I burn it all the time at home!

What is the favorite thing you do at ACC?

That's a tough one! I love collaborating with the Marketing Team and helping come up with fun new ideas to share with our candle friends. We've got a great group of people and it's so fun to brainstorm with them! I also really love anything with my job that involves writing, such as writing the blog, fragrance descriptions, and wholesale emails.

Funniest/Most fun moment at work?

Ed cracks us UP in the marketing office. There are so many funny moments and inside jokes that lighten everyone's mood! One of the most fun things we did at work, however, was when Brittany and I flew to South Carolina for the Haven Blogger Conference. It was fun to hang out with Brit and meet new influencer friends!

How has ACC grown since you started?

When I started, I was the second Antique Candle Co.® employee after Brittany's brother, Ed. We were only pouring 12 pots of wax or so a day, and maybe shipping around 20 orders. Now, we have around 30 full + part-timers, can pour over 300 pots, and ship nearly 1,000 packages every single day. The growth is incredible, and I'm so thankful to have been able to watch this business bloom from early on.

What has working at ACC meant to you?

Antique Candle Co.® has had a huge impact on my life. I never thought taking a part time job in college would lead to a full-time career that I love. I have found new interests, made so many new friends, been surrounded by positive, God-loving people, and have stepped out of my comfort zone in ways I never thought I would. I am so thankful to be able to use my degree in a unique, fun way, and support my family while doing it. I can't imagine where I'd be if I hadn't taken that Candle Maker position 3 years ago!

Random fact about you?

One of my goals in life is to be able to rescue cats and foster kittens to help them find good forever homes. My husband shares a similar goal to provide a loving home for elderly hospice dogs!

Meet Kelsey, maker for 2 years

"If I was a character from The Office...Hmmm...Well I did get the "Assistant to the Branch Manager" Dundee Award at last year's Christmas party, but I really hope I'm not a Dwight...haha!"

What do you do at Antique Candle Co.®?

I am the COO, so I spend my days on the Operations floor. I work with some really amazing individuals on our Production, Shipping, and Product Development Teams. They make my job super easy by keeping everything running smoothly. Seriously - we've got an awesome crew! I love working on the floor making candles and shipping candles. I also have the best time working with our small Product Development team to explore and test brand new fragrances. It's always super exciting launching new product and fragrances!

What is your favorite candle?

Fresh Cut Herbs! I love how this candle is fresh and cozy at the same time. It gives me all the plant lady vibes.

What is the favorite thing you do at ACC?

I LOVE working on the floor with everyone. It's such a light and funny atmosphere. It doesn't even feel like work most days.

Funniest/Most fun moment at work?

I can't narrow it down to a moment. Just Ed + Jake in general. They have us cracking up all day long!

How has ACC grown since you started?

I was the first full time employee Brittany hired, and now we have 17 full time employees! We've grown so much just in the past two years.

What has working at ACC meant to you?

I actually have a bachelor's degree in Spanish. I wasn't quite sure what to do career wise after college, and I ended up teaching high school Spanish for 3 years. Teaching wasn't really for me, so I sought something new after marrying my husband and moving to a new city to start our life together. I have never been more excited to apply for a job than this one. I am so glad that Brittany took a chance on me two years ago. ACC has taught me a lot and given me that sense of purpose that I craved after moving to the Lafayette area. It's been such a blessing to get to make candles for a living. I mean seriously - I can't believe that's my job most days!

Random fact about you?

I am a mom, and I absolutely love it! Our daughter, Iris, is 6 months old. My husband and I are having the best time embracing this new season of life.

Meet Hannah, maker for 1 1/2 years

"If I was a character from The Office...Leslie Knope. Better show. 😂😂 I just love how full of life she is. AND organized (really important!). I'm an enneagram type 1...so, yeah. There's that."

What do you do at Antique Candle Co.®?

I am the Chief Marketing Officer here at Antique Candle Co.® I help come up with marketing ideas + direction, write weekly emails to all our email friends, design and update our website regularly, and even shoot and edit videos from time to time! 🤗

What is your favorite candle?

Georgia Peach! Because, after all...I am a "Georgia Peach" 😉 It smells SO fresh! Like a REAL straight from the orchard, juicy Georgia Peach.

What is the favorite thing you do at ACC and why?

I LOVE using puns any way I can. On the website, in emails, in any kind of posts! I think life's too fun to be serious. We ALL need some puns from time to time!

Most fun moment at work?

Cyber Monday last year! It was ALL hands on deck! I felt like every person was helping shipping pack hundreds of orders! It was SO much fun being in that kind of fast-paced, energetic environment. There was definitely a buzz in the air (and it wasn't just because I had 4 cups of coffee that day!). I loved being with everyone, blasting techno music as loud as we could take it and packing as fast as we could.

How has ACC grown since you started?

Oh! It's grown by LEAPS and BOUNDS! I was either the 10th or 11th employee at Antique Candle Co.® and now there's 29 of us! When I first started working at ACC, Brittany and I were the only full time employees in Marketing. Our "Marketing Meetings" looked like us just sitting down for a chat! Now, we have a team of 7! I love how many thoughts and ideas contribute to Marketing meetings. It's SO cool to hear everyone's creative outlook on the marketing priorities each week. All I can say is, it takes a VILLAGE to make things happen the way they do and I'm so thankful for this team! ❤️

What has working at ACC meant to you?

Oh my goodness! It's meant the world. I have always wanted to work in a job where I felt a sense of purpose...a job where I could be creative and use the skills God has given me to glorify Him. I hadn't been in the Lafayette area long when I met Brittany. I was searching for a place to belong in the community. And simply put,  I found a place to belong. Praise God for His sovereign will over my life. I couldn't have planned it better myself. 🙌🏻

Favorite music to get pumped up at work?

The Lumineers gets my creativity pumping EVERY TIME! That's usually my jam when I'm writing emails or designing the website.

Meet Jacob, maker for 9 months

"Character from The Office...Dwight is by far the character I most closely relate to. My co-workers would agree with me in saying that I have a very odd sense of humor, that I own out on the work floor. I find that using this odd sense of humor can turn even the most mundane task into something more interesting and engaging!"

What do you do at Antique Candle Co.®?

I work as a specialist on the production side of the company! As a specialist, I am scheduled full-time to work all things production: from wicking the vessels we use, filling our candles with wax, and seeing them off to the shipping side of Antique Candle Co.® In addition to my jack-of-all trades role in production, I also record data for quality control, culling and documenting when candles aren’t fit for retail.

What is your favorite candle?

Peppermint, by far!

What is the favorite thing you do at ACC and why?

Adding fragrance to pots and pouring from melted is my favorite production task! I always love the feeling of hitting the measurements right the first time and not having to readjust my numbers.

Most fun moment at work?

Working over the summer, I challenged our production crew to wick an entire pallet (242 cases, exactly!) in a day. Listening to music and staying diligent, we were able to work as a team to wick the entire pallet before the end of the day!

How has ACC grown since you started?

Over the past months, the layout of production has changed to meet our current needs several times now. Sometimes working in production involves miniature scavenger hunts to find the things we need to get the day rolling.

What has working at ACC meant to you?

Everybody working with Antique Candle Co.® has a strong sense of teamwork. There is never a time working in production that I feel alone in any goal set. This teamwork vision of work has really changed the way I see my life inside and outside of work. I am SO happy to be a part of this awesome team!

Favorite place to get lunch during the work week?

Definitely dollar tacos from the Mexican restaurant down the street!

God has surely blessed us through your support, sweet friend. We are beyond thankful and are counting YOU as a truly special blessing to the Antique Candle Co.® family.

Thank you for allowing each of us to live the dream at Antique Candle Co.®!

2 Corinthians 4:15

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
