pumpkin swirl brownies
We know that with fall comes that overwhelming craving to have everything—and I mean everything—pumpkin. From the cutest pumpkin decorations, your annual visit to the pumpkin patch (who else goes more than once?), to that infamous PSL, you gotta have that pumpkin.
Some of the best pumpkin you can get are definitely pumpkin candles and pumpkin desserts. What’s better than yummy smells to fill your home and something sweet you can eat with it? Antique Candle Co.® (previously Antique Candle Works) teamed up with our friend Jenna from Jenna Kate at Home Blog to bring you the best of both worlds!
Jenna is a talented home decorator, DIYer, and baker whom we met for the first time at the Haven Conference in July! She specializes in the same area we do: helping you make your house a home. Who better to create a delicious dessert inspired by our reinvented Pumpkin Spice candle that’s more pumpkin-y than ever!
With that pumpkin craving in mind, Jenna created the oh-so-good, Pumpkin Swirl Brownies! This perfect fall dessert is exactly what every pumpkin-lover needs with all the best of chocolatey brownie, fall spices, and of course, pumpkin-y goodness!
Jenna’s Pumpkin Swirl Brownies
Brownie Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 tbsp vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
1 1/8 cup superfine sugar (put granulated sugar in a bag and crush with a rolling pin until fine)
2 large eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ tsp salt
For ingredients for the Pumpkin Swirl, visit Jenna’s original recipe!
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 Celsius). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper
Combine melted butter, oil, and sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk well for about a minute, and add the eggs and vanilla. Beat this together until the mixture is lighter in color (about another minute). This is Jenna’s tip for a nice, crackly top on your brownies!
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Jenna suggests using a wooden spoon or spatula to make sure you don’t over mix.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth it out evenly.
Combine all the pumpkin swirl ingredients in a bowl and add the mixture to the brownie batter. Check out Jenna’s original recipe for these ingredients and instructions on how to make the prettiest swirls in your brownies!
Bake for 25 minutes or until the brownies no longer jiggle in the pan and are just set to the touch.
